Personally, I can only think in may be in a smears on glasses/their mouth/pillow etc but that is no excuse AT ALL! Red lips are gorg, and the best bit is they can be worn on anyone. You just need the right shade and intensity. Por examples o' different hair colours and shades:

I just love it on everyone. I love the retro style it just seems to add to everyone, plus it instantly makes me feel...well...fancier. You could probably say I've loved it since I destroyed my parents marraige cert with it. But in my defense, who leaves a small child alone with a cert like that and Chanel lipsticks? Barcelona Red is my long time favourite, I've had it years and just love layering it up so it's gorg dark. Sometimes in a fancy compact, sometimes a vintage motor.

My other fav scarlet smackers makers are; Catrice Ruby Red lip liner, used all over for a first layer,(pencil in front)
Kat von Dee for Sephora Painted Love lipstick in Hellbent,(to the left), Benetint Lip Balm, for a sheer cover but still enough of a hint to show up. Really good for everyday/in the office, where drama face is frowned upon and Rimmel Full Volume in Lavish.

I picked this up as a last minute back up because my usual was running low and there was a wedding the next day. And I now have a new love / possibly the greatest money saver I've found make up wise. Goes on light(it's almost moouse like it's so ..fluffy feeling when it comes out), blends in perfectly, keeps its promise on the matt side, and lasts the day as well as any other. Now while I love a bargain, I also hate saying "oh yeah something is super...,for a cheap version". Nope, no point in getting it if it's crap, no matter how cheap, because it'll just have to be replaced with something that works, and there'll be the rage element attachted. Grrrrness. But for a grand total of €3.50 it's super duper, as I would say if it was €20. Yipi :)

Now, I love my products. I really do. And when I have the funds avavilable I like to splash out on the pricey options when I know they work...but this still seems a bit much..I tried to add up what could drag it that high...even if I got my roots done every 6 weeks, that'd be around a grand. I def DON'T get my roots done as often as I should. I even converted it..€2279.82 a year on cosmetics. According to another study, English women spend more than French women on cosmetics, and they're usually the highest spenders. But methinks us Irish girls can't be that far behind.Especially considering we've been forking out much higher prices conpared to the make uppers the other side of the pond for years. Does this amount scare anyone else, or would if seem completely resonable? I'm kinda frightened to add it up logically in case I realise I do spend far more than I think on face paint...

Now, I'm not really one to fall for advertising all the time (I swear...).I know what filled with lash inserts means,I'm not falling for that line!!No sir-ee! However I'd heard good things about this from many sources. So I decided to betray my lovely l'oreal double entend tube. And I highly regretted it. I gave it a bit longer than usual because I'd been a bit sneezy at the begining and thought it might be hayfever.It wasn't. The flakeyness, the scratching at my eyes, the inabailty of it to make really any difference besides the colour, the lack of staying power even when I did refrain from scratching..GAAHAAHAHARGH! I wanted my €8 back! Wouldn't recommend at all, and I rushed back to my old faithfull...I won't stray again, I promise!!!

What's in my bag..

Stolen...I mean, inspired by, whatkatiedids blog. What I'm carrying around today and tomorrow in my bag. I'm nowhere near as bad as I used to be for carrying around crap, but here we go. Handbag, and then contents of the make up bag within the handbag.

*Smokes. At least two packs with me at all times. I refuse to pay full price here so I've lovely friends get me duty free whenever they go home/on holidays. So I always carry enough to keep me going through the day/accidental pub trips after work. Also usually at least 3 lighters. Lighters crawl into my bags to die.

*Wallet. I'm not ever going to begin with the store cards within. Alot.

*Antibac gel. I spend half my life on the diseasewheels that is Dublin Bus. This is always good to have.

*Tiny hairbrush, deodorant.

*XXX mints, gum. Because I'm a filthy smoker. No one else should be punished.

*Keys. Minded by a Panda :)

*Work ID. The fear of losing this is ridiculous. I can't have people knowing where I'm spending the best years of my life..

*Muji box o'hair grips. Which also contains safety pins. Hardley ever needed but oh when they are I'm glad I have this!

*Earphones. Again...I spend alot of time on the bus. I like to drown out the babble of fellow commuters.

and finally..

*Book. Always have at least one on me. Normally something that assures I'll get a seat like "Most Evil Murders" or "True Cannibals". But I'm now being super cool and on Shane Warnes autobiography. One step up from a picture book reading wise but still.

This is AMAZING for me. I've whittled down my work day make up to JUST THE ABOVE!!!! All held in a gorg red Clarins bag sibling gave me. Ta Permy!!

*2 Foundations (Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish and Bourjois Healthy Mix) which I mush together in the Flawless finish case.
*Benefit Dandelion Blusher. Only blusher I've ever had and love!
*Rimmel Transparent powder.
*Brush for the Rimmel powder.
*Rimmel eyebrow pencil.
*eh......4 eyeliners....2 sephora kohl liners. They're the exact same...I just always have 2 on me for no reason. Front Cover liner that I got in a set from my boyfriend for Christmas that I use on my lower lash line, and a Lancome Liner Design in black that his lovely Mam gave me!
*Soft pink Fearne Cotton lipstick. Vichy lip balm.
*Max Factor False Lash Effect Fusion Mascarra. Using it up. It's grand except for it's flaky-ness although it could be effected by my watery hayfever eyes. I'm returning to my loyal L'oreal Double Extend ones once it's used though. I don't know why I left them....never again....
*Jasmine Perfume roll on. Got a few different ones of these in Morocco and I LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUVE them.
*Pencil parer. For the pencils. Duh.

Make up bag also contains emergency neurophen, clarityn and tissues. Sephora anti shine blotting papers are, logically, in the sunglasses case. Of course...

Again, I'm very proud of how little this is compared to even just a year ago. Maybe I'm just getting old and less able to carry weights around. And on match days and cricket training days...well that's a different story....

oh the things we learn online. I saw this awhile ago and lol'd and a mate of mine reposted it on facebook a few day ago. I lol'd again. Even though I do bleach the absolute shhhh out of my hair, pile on the black eye make up, paint on my eyebrows and all that jazz. Although I've never claimed to love a lip colour because it "makes me look like a street walker". I thought I'd post it here as I think tis worthy of a look see and a giggle. Plus it shows how different she does look in the stages. All done with humour. Lol etc

City Deals is a tempting, dangerous teritory. Seemingly great bargains a click away, until you realise you wouldn't have bought it anyway and it's just bribing you into spending money you can't. I'm on a super saving for Aus buzz at the moment and so have banned myself from frivilous spending on make up bits that I do not need. But my lovely boyfriend said with this one he'd pay for it since I've been working my toosh off and sick recently. So I got meself some Blink and Go individual lashes, meant to last near enough 2 weeks, and Shellac nails which are def meant to last 2 weeks. I will go into detail, but in short this is what I thought.

but the Shellac nails have made me look more like this;

First the lashes. I liked them on, fluttery and not obviously fake looking, took about 20 mins for the girl to do both eyes. Now I don't think I have ridiculous blinking ability but when I'm told 10-14 days, I really don't expect them all to be gone in less than 2. I didn't use anything harsh on them, in fact the only make up on the was the mascarra the girl applying them used. Hence, sad Panda. If they'd lasted they'd be great, but I wouldn't pay for them again since I still had to use strip lashes applied myself after. Grrrrrness.

Nails however, I am converted!! I seem to chip my nail in my sleep, no matter how many industrial stregnth top coats or whatever used, I can never get more than a night out of them. However, over a week later...*drumroll* NO CHIPS! AT ALL!!! (stupid feckin phone won't send pics now but I'll add them in as soon as it stops taking a notion!)

I can actually SEE it growing out it's that good...def going to keep this up since they do it in my local place, I may as well be honest, 99.9% I end up wearing black so it's worth it. Although that kinda counts as spending money that could go in Aus fund....

Tried to begin organising all my make up properly yesterday, so far : See through case is all eyeshadows inc palettes, eh..."silver" ie mucky loookin grey chanel bag on top is all lipsticks/glosses/liners, cupcake bag is all eyeliners and mascarras, flowery bag and leopard print is minature skin cares and samples, hard black case is the strictly set himself got me for the christmas(thanky Kenny!) and the bag on top is the one I bring when doing anyone elses make up. Has all my sponges, wipes, different shades of foundations/blushers, anti bacs, brush cleansers etc. The bag piled on top of that is hair brushes/combs/clips. The drier and curling irons and GHD are hiding in the drawer underneath it all.I still have to organise tools,brushes and added bits that are still lurking in the bathroom/ on the old shelves which still contain..

leopard print is full of nail varnishs, underneath bag is all my "posh" makeup i.e any bits of the designer stuff that I love/am still frightened of...Rest of the shelf is perfumes and eh...emergency fags at the side.yeaaahhh...
If anyone has any more sensible ways of storing all of this please let me know, this is the best I was able to manage and I've a feeling it's still going to end in choas very quickly...

I am an awful person. I've posted nothing.In forever. And I'm being punished for it. Well I'm telling myself that's why I'm such a disease bag now. Really, they're both more than likey a result of working all the hours I can, being up to my eyes there, stressed to the eyeballs, not looking after myself and whenever there's a free moment, drinking to forget it all. And now I only have the time to type because I'm off work. With what is either "chronic broncitus.....or pneumonia". Love when you pay good money and the professionals still can't be sure... And I know it's really affecting me because...I'm not giving a crap about putting on make up. I went into work last week with none on. More than once. This is a sign things have gone to far!! So I've decided tonight I'm going to have a rumamge through all my make up and beauty bits and tomorrow I will rekindle the love flame between me and a few of them and get happy!! and tomorrow, to keep my sanity(there really is NOTHING on tv during the day, and my dvd player is acting the bollix) I'm going to post about them. Oh yes. I have a goal now. It shall be done. Does anyone have something beauty wise that always cheers them up/makes crapness seem less crappy/makes you feel so good you forget you're sick? Please post, all ideas will be tried/all left lungs donated will be gratefully received!

squeeeeeeky clean brushes

Saturday morning without a hangover to me is like being given the gift of time..so this morning I used it to clean out the brushes I've been using most recently(thrill a minute stuff right?)!I have the sephora brush cleansers, and I used to use baby shampoo on them. But now I use olive oil and kitchen paper to get all the make up off them. Just put a lil puddle of it on the kitchen paper (about 3 or 4 sheets thick unless you want it to soak through onto whatever's underneath). Then dip the bursh into it,for a few secs on each side, them I just swirl them around on the clean bits of the paper, and rub it in a bit with my fingers to make sure I get it all(please excuse the crapness of my nails...I'm doing them on the train later I swear!). And keep rubbing and swirling on the paper until it's clear and all the oil is off.If a bit much gets on then I use a teeny bit of baby shampoo and water in the palm of my hand to get to off but I try not to. Then I leave them in shape and on the windowsill to dry out with the bristles out over the edge. The elephant is essential to keep watch. You would agree if you lived in a house where a dog once made a MAC Brush a chew toy..

OK, I know I've been very bad recently with not updating, but I'd a lil thinky in work today about what to day...and got confused.(I'm blaming the bang on the noggin I got in Norway while I still can). So, I thought I'd ask...what would anyone like to see next? Photos of doing make up on other people, doing looks on myself and posting how, reviewing products I love and new ones honestly,bargain of the week,doing round ups of certain types of makeup in a certain budget range? I'm well open (teehee...) for suggestions, so post away any ideas you have!

2 1/2 days and 2 nights in Oslo this weekend and I refuse to pay Ryanair for check in luggage for that short a time. Any nearly every time I've had to pay because of liquids/make up pushing me over the limit. I'm not going til Friday but I sorted everything this evening into lil pink bottles from Penneys in the lil pink trimmed see through bag.(€2 for the lot...yipis!)I can NOT go away without my all nighter, yes to carrots make up removers ans my teeny johnsons face care eye make up remover so I love having teeny ones now to throw in.The other bags are of powders and brushes and work make up,but still... I'm impressed with me for it. :) Is this actually impressive or am I kidding myself that this is good make up wise for a weekend.....?

especially when they're unexpected. I've been feeling a bit meh about my foundations recently. I was using the Healthy Mix one by Bourjois for good while and liked it, then decided to go as-natural-as-possible-make-up-products-ingredients-wise with the BioDetox one. Which was CRAP. I tried, I really tried to like it. But it was gack. Looked cakey, dried faster than I could blend it in and really didn't last. Went back to the 10 hour sleep effect one day and it was grand. Until.... yesterday after a quick trip round Penneys I was waiting for sibling to arrive and I spotted Hickeys Pharmacy on Henry St "Sale "sign. And right by the door, Elizabeth Arden Flawless finish Sponge On Foundation,which I've heard good things about. For €10 (normally around the €30 mark). Shweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!! Tried it today and so far I likes it!I'm not normally mad on the sponge on ones over liquid but it's lasted all day, went on even, smells nice and has a good sized mirror for that last minute applying while on the bus. Got Porcelain Beige 04 which blends in nicely with my natural paleness without looking to goth. Melikey!!

I'm actually quite excited by this!! The lovely girls on beaut.ie gave me a mention and ooooh how my eyes lit up when I saw! So I decided to do a post of 12 make up things I'm loving now :)

1)Bastiste Dry Shampoo. This has saved me after a fair few accidental sleep ins...I've ALOT of hair so it can't get done quickly in the morning. I'm waiting til this lil one finished before trying to color ones, should be as good methinks.

2) Urban Decay All Nighter.The ultimate sealer! this and Smashbox Primer combined mean I now know the joy of small handbags since I don't carry as much for top up on nights out. Love it!

3) The Balm to the Rescue! Vegan lip treatment, super lush and softening, was pretty exspensive (around 15 yoyos) but it's lasted me ages, works great and profits go towards Pug rescue. ahhhhhhh!!!!

4) Muji mini eyelash curlers. Does the job and is itty bitty so lives in the handbag. Muji rules!

5) Muji storage boxes. Not just for make up but I love them for stacking and the divided ones for the brushes. Again, Muji rules!

6)Catrice nail varnish. Available in Penneys nicely cheapy and a gorg deep red in Wine-tastic.

7)Sexy Mother Pucker in Plum Juice. Tingly Lippy Glossy without being stickey and smells of chocolate, not plums. I checked with Gina, it's not just me being mad. It's chocolate.

8) Essence XXXL shine lipgloss. Only 2 quid, loads of shimmery colours without being tacky, and smells like refreshers. (I'm aware I always bring things back to food but how and ever..)

9) Leopard print fluffy power puff. My boyfriends Mam got me this in the Fearn Cotton make up set for Christmas and I love it! and it goes perfectly with..

10) The leopard print make up bag. Penneys make up bags are deadly in my opinion. Cheap as chips and always gorg patterns and designs on them.

11) Essence Waterproof liquid eyeliner. I picked this up on Friday when I realised I'd lost my Rimmel Exagerate eyeliner and it worked verrrrrrrrrrrry good on Sat night. So much so it was still clinging on for dear life on ...eh....Sunday....Minging I know but...I'm being honest!!

12) 17 Hot Plum lip liner. Nice. Not much else to say....

I've been a terrible non-blogger these last few weeks..but I'm promising myself I'll get back into it properly.reeeeeeeeeeally soon I promise(myself)! For now, I have to rave about Lacura. Over Christmas, I went overboard, drinking to much, eating crap, falling asleep(again drunk..) in makeup and being ickly sickly fluey too. After it all I looked crap. My skin went crap, got horribley rash-y and flakey and BLEH. And it was obviously quite bad as even himself went"eh....well...like..it won't stay like that". I spent 4 days with no make up on looking shite it was that owee and irriated easily. I'd heard good stuff about the Lacura stuff I kid you not in 2 days it was back normal again. DEF recommend, two thumbs it, I likes this etc. :)

The nicest of the nicest of my organicy/chemical/mineral oil free products. I love lush products and try and buy stuff that's actually good for my skin and not full of chemicals.when I can.....naked shampoo..no sulphates(dry out your skin horribly and are only there to make bubbles) smells super and cleans out all the hairspray and crap I put in. The Balm products are all GORG! make up break up clears off every heavy dark eyemake I do at weekends. Feels like vaseline mixed with moisturiser and makes you look like a panda in a weird way but works better than baby oil at getting it all off. And the eyeshadows there are if you're rich,I'm single and work is overrated. Buildable and shimmery without being to sparkely, they're the ones on Maeve in the bridemaid make up pics. And the carrots remover...smells yummy and leaves your skin super clean and super duper soft :-)

Miami I adore you. Ventura Mall...I worship you...Sephora.....you were everything I dreamed. Row after row of tools and brushes, all the brands desired, each and every shade and product coveted...and sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much cheaper than here or online! Here lies the haul....

oooooooooooooooooooh make up kits!! 16 eye shadows, 2 liners(tourqouise and black) and the wonder product that is the Urban Decay eye primer. All the shadows are Alice-y themed versions of Urban decays regular shadows ( Underland-Flash, Alice-Painkiller, Oraculum-Baked, Queen-Last Call, Chessur-Chopper, White Rabbit-Polyester Bride, Wonderland-Maui Wowie, Cuiriouser-Grifter, Muchness-X, Midnight Tea Party-Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, Vorpal-S&M, Absolem-Homegrown, Eat me Drink Me-Sin,Madhatter-Twice Baked and Jabberwocky-Oil Slick). The Primer is the BEST one you can get, I first used it before a certain evening when a shindig was taking place. I went, I danced, I head banged, I stood by a BBQ sweatin' (sexy that), ran around hyped up, headbanged more, macarenna-d, and fell asleep face first in a pillow. I rose 12 hours later. Face a state, eye make up- HAD NOT MOVED!!!!! This stuff is the business!!! The shadows are long lasting even without the primer being used and the colours go on gorgeous. This has become hard to get because it started off just getting sold online but...AerLingus sell it on their flights!!and for cheap!!!I got mine for £23. Sterling. For serious. I'll be using this kit when I start doing looks on this (thanks Asia!) so I'll post more about it then :)

Lazy post tonight but still,I'm trying to just rememeber to keep posting: Oh intelligent Sunday night viewing!MTV "documentaries"! Jessica Simpson! True, it was never going to win awards for journalistic brilliance but for what it is this show actually is , it's really quite interesting. In a nutshell Jessica,her best mate and her hairdresser get to flit around the world "learning" about different beauty procedures and perceptions of beauty in different cultures. Indian one featured laughing yoga and holistic beauty treatments and right now they're in Brazil talking waxing, plastic surgery, samba and ...eh....speedos on seniors....BEEEE-OO-DEE-FULL!!!If there's nothing else on it's a decent show and does show different types of make up, beauty and looks. On MTV Sunday nights at 10.

So I've decided to start with my opinions on the product I use every day for my "work face". In a perfect world I would quite happily go mental trying a lot of different make up looks every day but, alas, I work in the conservative world of finance and so I can't quite get away with that. Also, mornings while rushing are not the best times to try fiddly things with liquid eyeliner, plus as long as you don't mind a few odd glances, this is all what can be put on while on the bus/luas/dart whatever and not go horribly wrong!! The most important ones, in my opinion, are explained why after.

Bourjois are always a good choice for products, they aren’t massively expensive and always seem to do exactly what they claim. Plus since they're developed in the same labs and owned by Chanel cosmetics, you can pretty much get the exact shades Chanel are doing at a much lower price. Sometimes they're even better,
for example, I got Christmas vouchers from my lovely sibling and decided to splash out and get the Chanel foundation.I oohed and ahhhed over them all,had a long draw out chat with the lady at the desk and pretty much happy danced as I purchased.I used it for awhile, then said I was "saving it" for a special occaision..but I went back to Boujois. It went on easier, lasted longer, had a better consistency and didn't feel as mask like as the Chanel one did. Matches skin tones very well, goes on easily, blends in and stays put for as long as any other more expensives brand would!

Only started using this in the last month-ish and I'm love,love,LOVING it!!! Any time I've tried bronzer before, no matter how light handed I've gone with the brush, and no matter what shade, it's never given me the "sun kissed" look they promise.I've always ended up just looking…well….mucky. The only time I wore it outside was as a pirate costume. Mucky worked for that. But this goes on light, doesn't give the "I've rubbed a tea bag on my face" look, and doesn't look overly shimmery for the day. As an added bonus, it smells like chocolate. Try not to lick yourself (or anyone else wearing it).

Possibly the most battered product in my make up bag. I bought this about 4 years ago for a disgusting price and I'm still on the first one. It's the only blusher I've ever used and that's because I've never even considered any other. It stays on, is a lovely light, natural looking pink that doesn't give that horrible Bosco effect that a certain type of Dublin girl would be going for to match the purposefully messed up hair and uggs'n'trackies combo…I'll say no more.Again, ridiculously expensive at the time, I think I paid about €30 for it, but again, I'm still on the one I bought 4 years ago and I've never used any other. Woooooooonderfull!

Highlighter that does illuminating nicely and without a shimmery sparkled look that would be a bit much. Just a natural looking, healthy glow-y look. I use it on my cheekbones, down the middle of my nose and my browbones and it lasts a ridiculously long time. I've been using it every day for a few months now, had been using it every weekend before that and I'm still on the bottle I got for my 21st. Tiny drops go a long way!

As with the Bourjois bronzer I love,love, LOVE this!!! I actually stock up when these go on 3 for 2 in boots, such is my loyaty! Lengthens, darkens nicely,doesn't flake or crumble at all and has never once irritated my eyes. If it's the weekend or I've time I curl my eyelashes before using this, but to be honest you don't really need to.(Curling on a moving bus is just asking for trouble…)

Make up. As though that wasn't obvious. Basically this is an excuse to fuel my obsession, and call it research. Plus I've never been one to keep diaries or the like,but keeping track of nights out based on how my lashes were styled is a beginning. I'm well open for suggestions or questions for my fanatic mind. I'm in no way a professional but I'm honestly brutal about what works, what its worth, or if its woefull! Let the finger face painting and memoirs in mup begin!
